I HAVE A NEW DOCTOR. I am firing my Lexus Dealership Service Dept.
I’m a new first time customer driving a late model (2004) Lexus which I purchased brand new from the Lexus dealership in 2003, I drive very little these days and have taken my car to the dealership only for all repairs since its purchase. I realize the dealership is a bit more expensive, But they made it very convenient, i.e., providing a rental at no cost, a car-wash, a coffee bar, and many other fluffy things to keep me coming back. They established a certain amount of trust within me … until now!
A friend recommended The Burbank Auto Doctor. I called, spoke to Mike and immediately drove there for a second opinion. They were knowledgeable, nice, funny, and frank. A kind ear and a quick look was all it took to see something was wrong with the Lexis dealership quote. My my Lexus up-selling service person basically crossed the line this time. His mechanic misdiagnosed a critical problem. My service person at Lexis is very busy and didn’t question the mechanic. Although he did add photos and a canned response as to why I needed the repair right away while also pointing out another expensive repair requiring immediate attention. The total cost was staggering and I didn’t understand why this was not noticed at my last oil change? I had a basic service oil change about 5,000 miles ago and nothing was mentioned at that time. This time two major issues were brought to my attention . . . they were presented with canned photos downloaded from the internet to depict my problems. The only problem was the pictures were not of my car. The diagnosis was incorrect and much more expensive than the actual problem.
Conclusion: I now have a new doctor. I will pick my car up today and since I haven’t had a chance to test drive I can’t give an actual review but I believe the Burbank Auto Doctors will hit a home run with me. They get points for honesty, saving me money, and also as a referral from my neighbor who uses them and has the same vehicle as me.
I’ll be following up this review with another after I pick up my car today. I’m expecting my happy meter to break a new record as well!!! Stay tuned. It’s always nice to find a new doctor who is honest, truthful, trustworthy, and less expensive,

I'm so glad I found this shop
Went in thinking I might have to throw down a few hundred bucks for some new brakes after I told them I noticed a burning smell. Turns out there was just a plastic bag stuck on my exhaust. They checked the brakes, told me they were still good 4 a while and even rotated my tires. I offered to pay for the rotation but they said don’t worry about it!
I’ve been here three times – twice when my check engine light appeared, and once when my carburetor was backed up, causing dampness to the floor of my passenger side.
For all three visits, I could not have been happier with the service. I am greeted and tended to right away, a diagnostic is performed, and an explanation as to the vehicle’s problem is given.
I’m so glad I found this shop, as having a mechanic you can trust is so important, especially here in L.A., where we practically live in our cars.

Great place fast service
After dropping it off I got a call less than an hour later saying the condenser had a visible leak, and an estimate was given. After the condenser and drier were replaced, Ben told me he would like to keep it overnight to make sure there were no other leaks.
The next morning he called and told me there were two other small leaks which only required O ring replacement. This did not add to the original estimate, the price was very fair, and the communication was great. My wife’s AC is now frosty cold and the whole experience was great.
I would not hesitate to refer anyone to this shop as they were very straight forward, professional, and reasonably priced.
They could’ve tried 2 sell me something I didn’t need but they were totally honest from start 2 finish. Hard 2 find businesses like that anymore. Highly recommend this place to everybody I know.
